Allen's training camp debut shows system familiarity with Steichen accelerating transition.
The 14-year veteran made his training camp debut in full pads on the final day, participating in two one-on-one battles and a series of reps in 11-on-11 team drills. Allen won his first 1-on-1 on a short slant route and used his length to knock away a bad pass on his second rep. The six-time Pro Bowler did not receive a target during team drills, but his presence offered an encouraging live-action look. Allen spent seven seasons with head coach Shane Steichen in Los Angeles, giving him familiarity with the system that could accelerate his transition to Indianapolis. He signed a one-year contract worth up to $8.32 million in incentives.
