Barring a surprising Raiders playoff run, it would be difficult to imagine Mendoza going through his entire rookie season without getting meaningful playing time. The reality of drafting a quarterback first overall is that the team cannot waste the opportunity to find out what they have in him and expedite his development by getting him significant playing time this year.
