He doesn't look explosive and will turn 25 in October, but 'healthy and reliable' might be enough to win the No. 2 RB job in San Francisco; however, Jordan James (ribs) returned to practice Saturday and McCormick played well Thursday (6-53-1), so Black's path to the backup role remains contested.
