I can't see him making the roster in this crowded position group, and he has not been practicing as an H-back in training camp, suggesting the Eagles wouldn't file him under the 'tight end/fullback' category. This happens in training camp. Steele's preseason appearances are essentially job interviews with other teams.

Steele unlikely to make 53-man roster but hard to stash on practice squad.

Steele is unlikely to make the Eagles' 53-man roster given the crowded running back depth chart (Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby, Will Shipley) and has not been practicing as an H-back in training camp, suggesting the Eagles would not file him under the 'tight end/fullback' category. However, his preseason performance has made it 'very hard for the Eagles to stash him on their practice squad,' as other teams' pro scouting departments were watching. If cut, Steele will be subject to waivers and will have another preseason appearance against Cincinnati to audition for other teams.
