Chris Bell, drafted in the third round by Miami out of Louisville despite an ACL tear in November 2025, is progressing faster than expected in his recovery. Head coach Jeff Hafley confirmed Bell has cleared non-contact restrictions and participated in contact drills, with plans for him to play in the preseason finale against Atlanta on Friday (August 23, 2026). If he continues to progress, he is expected to be ready for the regular season opener on September 13 against Las Vegas.
