Carted off from Giants practice on Tuesday, Aug. 25 with a non-contact right knee injury sustained during one-on-one drills against cornerback Deonte Banks; slipped while attempting a cut and grabbed his right knee. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported the injury as 'serious knee injury.' Austin was competing for a starting slot receiver role after joining the Giants as a free agent from the Pittsburgh Steelers and appeared in line to start after the team lost Wan'Dale Robinson to the Tennessee Titans in free agency.
