Undervalued WR1 candidate at end of first round; McCarthy was the problem, not Jefferson.
Jim Coventry calls Justin Jefferson an undervalued receiver at end of first/early second round, saying the fantasy football community has unjustly punished him. Last year's poor performance (1,000 yards, 2 TDs) was not his fault; J.J. McCarthy was the problem, not Jefferson. Kyler Murray is at least as good as Sam Darnold, who had 35 TDs and 4,300 yards in this offense two years ago. Jefferson is an established 1,600-yard receiver (his four-year average before last season). Kevin O'Connell schemes him open within half a second regardless of coverage. Jefferson's floor is WR5, ceiling could easily be WR1. Durability is not a concern—he has missed time only once in his career (seven games two years ago to hamstring) and otherwise has never missed a game.
