CMC looked cooked as a runner in 2025, ranking bottom-five in success rate and rush yards over expected per attempt, and 36th in yards after contact per carry. Alvin Kamara averaged -.59 RYOE per attempt in 2021 (nearly identical to McCaffrey's -.54 mark from last year) and his rushing efficiency never rebounded; Todd Gurley experienced a calamitous efficiency dropoff and was out of the league in three years. The signs are there for McCaffrey that the end could come for every running back.
