Douglas signed a one-year deal with the Washington Commanders worth up to $3.8 million after establishing himself as Miami's top cornerback in 2024. He began the season behind Jack Jones and Storm Duck but was inserted into the starting lineup after Duck's Week 1 injury and held the role through season's end, missing two games with foot and ankle injuries but returning in Week 13 with interceptions in consecutive games. He was targeted 82 times, allowing 54 catches for 515 yards and three touchdowns while defending 13 passes (tied for second most in a single season of his career) and earning AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors after Week 14 against the Jets.
