Dillon Gabriel is in the same boat, but for different reasons. He is considered too short at 5-foot-11 to be a starting quarterback, and he can't make up for that because his lack of arm strength comes out when he tries to throw a deep pass. He can process the operational side of the position just fine, but his physical limitations mean he is destined to be a backup quarterback for the majority of his career.

Gabriel's 5-foot-11 frame and weak arm limit him to backup role; No. 78 in Total EPA.

Developmental QB limited by physical constraints: 5-foot-11 frame considered too short for starting role, and lack of arm strength becomes apparent on deep passes; processes operational side of position adequately but physical limitations destine him to backup role for majority of career; ranked No. 57 in EPA/Play and No. 78 in Total EPA (-53.85) in rookie season.
