Turf Show Times on Stetson Bennett

Bennett underwhelming in preseason; at 29 with no NFL experience, offers little upside.

Despite media hype that he was 'great' in the second preseason game, the truth is probably close to him being underwhelming as the backup to Matthew Stafford in 2026. At almost 29 years old with no NFL playing experience, Bennett is a quarterback who has never played in the NFL. The source suggests he could be Minnesota's QB3 if they're looking for an upgrade over Max Brosmer, but notes that Ty Simpson gives the Rams a closer model of Stafford and what type of offense McVay can run around the quarterback position than Bennett ever could.
