George has been great. He's passing everything. We're just getting him out with the team these three days and anytime when you come back out and practice with the team going against people and stuff — I hope there's not a setback in that way. That has nothing to do with his injury or anything.

Kittle practicing in team drills; Shanahan clarifies 'step back' comment was misspoken.

49ers tight end George Kittle is practicing this week and moving into team drills ahead of the trip to Australia; head coach Kyle Shanahan clarified that his previous "taken a step back" comment was misspoken and does not indicate a change to Kittle's return timeline from his torn Achilles. Shanahan stated "George has been great. He's passing everything" and emphasized the comment had "nothing to do with his injury." Kittle's Week 1 status against the Rams remains uncertain, but Shanahan indicated the team would prefer to make a final decision before traveling to Melbourne.
