Stowers, the 54th overall pick and second tight end selected in the draft, struggled through most of training camp with few flash plays; recorded five targets for three catches and 12 yards (long of six yards) across the first two preseason games on 39 snaps. The Eagles kept four tight ends on the 53-man roster (Dallas Goedert, E.J. Jenkins, Johnny Mundt, and Stowers), with the extra tight end depth suggesting Stowers could be inactive to start the season, similar to how Jalen Hurts began 2020 as a healthy inactive.
