STACKED’s take
McLaughlin waived by Broncos, unclaimed on waivers, signed to Browns practice squad.
The 4-year veteran was waived by Denver on Sunday and went unclaimed on waivers, then signed to Cleveland's practice squad. McLaughlin appeared in 41 games for the Broncos with 226 rushing attempts for 1,093 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns, plus 59 receptions for 263 yards and 4 touchdowns, but lost his roster spot after the Broncos drafted rookie Jonah Coleman in the 4th round. He was already inactive for multiple games last season and only saw playing time when JK Dobbins was injured. Head Coach Sean Payton cited special teams performance as the deciding factor in the final roster cuts, with the Broncos keeping four running backs (Dobbins, RJ Harvey, Coleman, Tyler Badie) and signing Cody Schrader to the practice squad instead.
