STACKED’s take
Caleb Williams ends Bears' historic QB drought; first legitimate franchise QB in living memory.
The source frames Caleb Williams as the stabilizing force at quarterback for the Chicago Bears, ending a historic drought of quality QB play dating back to Sid Luckman's last good year in 1947. The source emphasizes that for living Bears fans, this represents the first time in their lifetime they have experienced a legitimate franchise quarterback, contrasting Williams favorably against the team's long history of mediocre QB play and controversies (Mitch Trubisky vs Nick Foles, Justin Fields vs Andy Dalton, etc.). The source expresses optimism about Williams' ceiling—potentially Pro Bowl-caliber, All-NFL, or Hall of Fame—while acknowledging the uncertainty is 'fun' and worth watching develop under offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.
