Ewers traded to Jaguars after underperforming in Dolphins camp and preseason.

Ewers was traded from the Dolphins to the Jaguars for a 2028 sixth-round pick after Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan determined his performance in training camp and preseason did not meet the required level. Sullivan stated: "This is a performance-based business and it was not getting done at the level it needed to get done at." Ewers now backs up Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville after being the Dolphins' starting QB at the end of last season.
