As the "Knuckles" to Gibbs' "Sonic" in Detroit's backfield for the last three years, Montgomery was an excellent fantasy producer despite the shared touches. In addition to averaging more than four yards per carry each year with the Lions, Montgomery also caught a couple dozen passes every season to keep his scrimmage yard total above 900 for three straight years. The former Lions back also scored plenty of touchdowns in Detroit – 33 across three seasons. Montgomery projects as Houston's new lead back in 2026, but questions remain about how much the Texans will use second-year Woody Marks and how well the offensive line will hold up.
