FantasyPros Articles on Jonathon Brooks
From the article
Jonathon Brooks legitimately has the potential to be a three-down back in a run-focused offense come Week 1.
STACKED’s take
Brooks is a three-down back candidate in Canales' run-focused offense at RB8-9 cost.
Brooks makes the league-winner list despite not playing in the NFL for two years for three reasons: (1) he is an eighth-to-ninth-round RB, so you can get him cheap; (2) Chuba Hubbard is 'cooked'—over the past five years, among RBs with at least 75 carries, only one had zero explosive rushing yards, and that was Hubbard with 134 carries; (3) Dave Canales has one of the most favorable environments for RBs in the NFL and feeds his bell cow (e.g., Rico Dowdle in 2025 mid-season). Panthers RBs ranked 13th and 14th in combined carries and targets in 2024-2025 despite a 13-21 record. Brooks legitimately has the potential to be a three-down back in a run-focused offense come Week 1.
