Mason's efficiency edge over Jones; top-20 upside if Jones injured again.
While Mason averaged only 8.1 PPR fantasy points per game last year, he outperformed Aaron Jones on the ground, posting a better rushing yards per attempt average (4.8 vs. 4.2), yards after contact per attempt average (2.42 vs. 1.67), and touchdown per touch rate (3.5% vs. 1.9%). The only running back the Vikings added this offseason was sixth-round rookie Desmond Claiborne. If Jones struggles to stay healthy again after missing five games last year with multiple injuries, Mason could end the season as a borderline top-20 running back.
