STACKED’s take
Watson's new contract and role expansion position him as WR2 with WR1 upside.
Derek Brown notes Watson earned new contract and should enter 2026 as Packers' clear WR1 after proving he could handle role. From Weeks 8-18, Watson ranked WR21 in PPG with 18.2% target share, 61.1 receiving yards per game, 2.67 yards per route run, 23.9% first-read share, and 0.122 first downs per route run. With Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks gone, Watson's target and first-read shares should increase. His 68% route share (56th among 109 receivers) limited him last year; more playing time should make per-route efficiency more dangerous. Among 109 receivers, Watson finished 4th in yards per route run, 10th in first downs per route run, 6th in fantasy points per route run. Should be viewed as strong WR2 with upside to deliver more.
