Downs fell 9 ADP spots after the Colts signed Keenan Allen, making him the biggest value loser this week. However, the source is skeptical of Allen's impact on Downs's breakout case. Allen torpedoed Ladd McConkey's fantasy stock last year, but not by taking McConkey off the field; McConkey's route rate marginally increased to 90 percent and his aDOT barely moved, meaning he was on the field more earning similar types of targets. McConkey simply earned those targets at a lower per-route rate and was much less efficient. The source notes the Chargers' season-long offensive spiral was likely the larger culprit and is buying Downs at the reduced price, saying "I don't buy that Allen is a huge impediment to the Downs breakout case."
