Steve Smith Sr. names Washington Miami's WR1 with major opportunity after Hill/Waddle departures.

Washington, a sixth-round 2024 pick, has the biggest opportunity of his young career in year three. With Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle no longer in Miami, the door is open for Washington to step into a leading role for new quarterback Malik Willis. Steve Smith Sr. says Washington is Miami's WR1, praising his movement in preseason and growth: "They did a really good job moving him around in the preseason game. He will be a huge contributor. They love his growth. He's a bluecollar, lunchpail (guy)." Washington set Virginia program records with 110 receptions and 1,426 receiving yards in 2023.
