He has been working overtime with QB coach Matt Schaub since returning to the team to learn Mike LaFleur's complex new offense, which requires quarterbacks to know every player's responsibility on each play. Schaub, a 16-year veteran who played under five different systems, has become an excellent tutor given his real-life experience adjusting to multiple offensive coordinators and schemes. Brissett has responded well to intensive preparation including extra meetings, walk-throughs, and endless discussions; while he may not have everything down by Week 1, he won't be viewed as a work in progress.
