Stevenson is in line to start the regular-season opener against Seattle on Sept. 9 with TreVeyon Henderson (ankle) sidelined since Aug. 24 and his Week 1 status seriously in doubt. With only first-year RB Corey Kiner as the other active running back on the 53-man roster, Stevenson could see a lion's share of the carries. The coaching staff has confidence in his ability to pick up the blitz, which has earned him more playing time; in Week 1 of 2025, he played 46 snaps to Henderson's 25.
