The Giants released the wide receiver on Monday, just days before their season opener with the Dallas Cowboys. Slayton was on track to be a healthy scratch for the Giants' game with the Cowboys, according to SNY's Connor Hughes. The Giants reunited with former star Odell Beckham Jr. this past offseason, and the team is expecting Malik Nabers back in the near future after his ACL injury early last season (possibly in time for Sunday night). Darnell Mooney and rookie Malachi Fields are expected to get significant time, too.
