In a contract year, I'm expecting a big bounce-back season from Mayfield if he can stay healthy all season.

Mayfield poised for bounce-back in contract year; strong Week 1 if healthy.

Mayfield had a tough 2025 as QB17 in fantasy points per game after a wondrous QB4 campaign in 2024, dealing with injuries to his receiver room, offensive line, and himself (bruised throwing arm, sprained MCL/PCL, bicep tendon strain, left shoulder issues). Among 38 qualifying quarterbacks, he was 24th in yards per attempt, 35th in adjusted completion rate, 22nd in catchable target rate, and 11th-worst in turnover-worthy throw rate. In a contract year, the source expects a big bounce-back season if he can stay healthy. Mayfield should have a strong Week 1 performance, though the Bengals completely overhauled their defense this offseason with additions of Dexter Lawrence, Jonathan Allen, Boye Mafe, Cashius Howell, Kyle Dugger, and Bryan Cook. Mayfield will be forced to chuck it to keep up with Cincinnati's high-powered offense.
