Hubbard's historic inefficiency and job loss make him a risky flex despite Week 1 upside.

Chuba Hubbard followed up his big breakout 2024 season with a stinker in 2025, finishing as the RB40 in fantasy points per game. He dealt with a calf injury for part of the season and lost his starting job to Rico Dowdle. Among 49 qualifying backs, Hubbard ranked dead last in missed tackle rate and explosive run rate (zero explosive runs) while sitting 47th in yards after contact per attempt, making him arguably the most inefficient running back in the NFL last year. Jonathon Brooks is expected to lead the backfield this season, though Hubbard should still be a sizable portion of the rushing attack to open the season, giving him flex value with some upside for Week 1.
