McBride's 117-catch record shows elite production but needs sustained 1,000-yard seasons.
McBride broke the single-season reception record for a tight end in 2025 with 117 catches in late December, surpassing the previous mark of 116. Over the last two years, he has accumulated 147 and 169 targets for 1,146 yards and 1,239 yards, respectively. To be considered elite, he will need more than his two Pro Bowls and to gain more yardage each season; for comparison, Travis Kelce has six seasons over 1,000 yards and 11 Pro Bowls.
