FantasyPros Articles on Tony Pollard
From the article
Brian Daboll has a long history of utilizing one workhorse back in his offenses, so I'm still projecting Tony Pollard to be that guy. Pollard is hopefully a volume play with RB2 upside in Week 1.
STACKED’s take
Pollard's projected workhorse role and volume upside support RB2 potential despite tough Jets defense.
Pollard is projected to be the Titans' workhorse back under Brian Daboll, who has a long history of utilizing one workhorse back in his offenses. Last year, Pollard ranked 15th in snap share, 17th in opportunity share, and 16th in weighted opportunities but was only the RB29 in fantasy points per game due to a putrid offensive situation (five total touchdowns; offense ranked 30th in points per game and 32nd in red zone scoring attempts). On a per-touch basis, he ranked 25th in explosive run rate and 22nd in yards after contact per attempt among 49 qualifying backs. The Jets added defensive firepower this offseason and ranked sixth-lowest in rushing success rate, sixth-fewest yards before contact per attempt, and tenth-highest hit rate at or behind the line of scrimmage last year; Pollard is a volume play with RB2 upside in Week 1.
