Jones is 31 years old and despite playing all 17 games last season, has shown a propensity for getting banged up, per Christopher Gates; Dave Stefano notes the Vikings' 53-man backfield is Jones, Mason, Claiborne, and fullback Bredeson, and if either starter goes down for multiple weeks, the next man up would be 'hope the kid is ready' plus a fullback, which is not ideal depth.
