Drew Lock stepped up in an emergency and made several timely throws (often in the face of pressure) in Seattle's comeback win. He'll presumably get all of the starting reps in practice next week, and ideally the communication issues between himself and offensive coordinator Brian Fleury will be smoothed over now that there's an actual gameplan that can be developed.

Lock gets full starting reps in Week 2 after strong emergency relief performance.

Backup QB elevated to starting duties while Darnold recovers from hip injury. In Week 1 emergency relief appearance, Lock made several timely throws often under pressure in Seattle's comeback win. This was his first extended reps due to starter injury in his Seahawks tenure (previously started twice in 2023 during Geno Smith's absence). Will receive all starting reps in practice for Week 2, with opportunity to develop actual gameplan with offensive coordinator Brian Fleury to address prior communication issues.
