Week 1 plan isn't necessarily the full-season plan, but this is definitely the largest role we've ever seen from a McCaffrey backup. If it continues, CMC might only be a low-end RB1. Better days than this one, but the insane ceiling would be gone.

McCaffrey's ceiling diminished if backup workload continues at Week 1 levels.

McCaffrey's backfield snap share was impacted by Kaelon Black's increased involvement; Black played 22.8% of snaps and 3.4% of routes on just 13 snaps, gaining 54 yards on 10 carries. McCaffrey's per-snap touch rate was notably low despite dominating snaps in passing situations (70% on 1D, 75% on 2D, 88% on 3D). The source notes this is the largest role ever seen from a McCaffrey backup, and if it continues, CMC might only be a low-end RB1 with the insane ceiling removed.
