I lost patience, and it cost us. [They were] decisions that cost us the game on my part. I've asked myself to be better and realize it's a long season, but at the same time (you) can't have those [plays]. It was unacceptable … That wasn't how I play football or how I want to represent my game and playing quarterback for the Patriots.

Maye's fourth-quarter interceptions and pocket indecision cost Patriots the game.

The 24-year-old quarterback's fourth-quarter collapse against Seattle—three interceptions and multiple forced passes under duress—raised concerns about his decision-making and pocket poise. Maye threw late on a third-and-long attempt to DeMario Douglas that was intercepted by Julian Love, and forced a deep ball to Romeo Doubs in heavy coverage that was tipped to cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett. He acknowledged losing patience and stated the turnovers were unacceptable, noting he appeared less settled in the pocket than during the 2025 season despite adequate protection at times, prematurely leaving the pocket instead of working around pressure.
