The Texans' veteran running back, acquired via a two-pick trade package, reinforced his central role in Houston's offensive plans with three total touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving) and 79 total yards on 23 touches. Montgomery showed nice burst when finding the hole and outraced the defense for an 18-yard rushing score. His methodical approach helped set the tone for an efficient offense that converted seven of 16 third downs, held the ball for nearly 13 minutes more than Buffalo, and found the end zone on four of five red-zone trips—a significant improvement from ranking 29th in red-zone efficiency in 2025.
