Fields: 4 targets, 2 catches, 25 yards; significant impact as run-game blocker in condensed sets.

Fields saw limited pass-catching work in Week 1, targeted four times for two catches and 25 yards (19 on one catch). He got behind the Dallas defense on one target but was overthrown by Dart on what could have been a huge play. However, Fields had significant impact as a blocker in the run game, particularly in Greg Roman's condensed sets where he was used as an extra tight end. In a 20-personnel set (two backs, no tight ends), Fields lined up with Braxton Berrios in the backfield and was asked to release to the second level to pick up linebacker Dee Winters, which he executed effectively. The Giants also used his frame as a downfield obstacle to create space for teammates in passing concepts.
