The 29-year-old tight end was released from the New England Patriots practice squad to make room for Elliott Davison's re-signing. Zylstra, a 6-foot-3, 245-pound veteran of 35 games including six starts, brought the practice squad to capacity earlier in the month. Over his career, he has caught 18 passes for 136 yards and four touchdowns across 582 snaps on offense and 393 snaps on special teams. He was released with an injury waiver after spending five years with the Detroit Lions, time with the Buffalo Bills in the 2026 offseason, and his rookie training camp with the Minnesota Vikings.
