Gesicki's Week 1 performance should not be chased despite strong surface stats. He played fewer snaps than Drew Sample (65.1% snap share) and just one more snap than Erick All Jr., limiting his true role. While he caught 4 of 6 slot targets for 76 yards with a touchdown, he was out-targeted by Chase and Tee Higgins by a decent chunk. His 41% target rate per route run was nearly identical to Noah Fant's Week 1 usage with the Saints.
