Cardinals' Love pick at No. 3 ends Allgeier's riser status; four of five seasons as backup
Allgeier's dynasty stock has plummeted after Arizona drafted Jeremiyah Love at No. 3 overall, ending his brief period as a dynasty riser. Allgeier will now spend four of his first five NFL seasons as a backup (three behind Bijan Robinson, now one behind Love), confirming he is viewed as backup-caliber by NFL organizations. While he retains some value as a handcuff option, his prospects are further dimmed by Arizona being expected to be one of the worst teams in the NFL, making it unlikely he will impress enough to warrant a big contract when he hits free agency in two years. He is projected to spend his career as a backup RB dependent on injury ahead of him.
