Brown benched in Week 1 despite $5M deal; coach regrets lack of snaps and vows to increase usage.

Brown was a healthy scratch (DNP-CD) in the Eagles' Week 1 opener despite signing a one-year, $5 million contract in March and having a good training camp. This marked the first time in his eight-year NFL career he did not play in a game; his previous low was 14 snaps in 2019, and he averaged 50 snaps per game in his career and 34 snaps last year with the Chiefs. Head coach Nick Sirianni said on Monday he regretted Brown never got off the bench and acknowledged the offense could have used his playmaking ability, noting "his speed is real" and that he wants to "get him into the football game" and "make a better effort to do that next time."
