He was carried off the field after evading Vikings linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel on a quarterback keeper play near the goal line. Head coach Ben Johnson said the severity was unknown immediately after the game but the organization would have more information Monday. Depending on the severity of the strain, Williams could miss a handful of games—almost certainly the Bears' next contest on Monday Night Football Sept. 28 against Philadelphia—or even months. However, nobody in the Bears' locker room appeared to believe Williams' season is over or that his absence will be extremely lengthy.
