Smith finished 27-for-41, 247 yards, one touchdown, no turnovers against Green Bay but made costly mistakes in overtime that cost the Jets a game they led 20-10 with 11:04 remaining in regulation. He was sacked twice on the decisive overtime drive that pushed the Jets from their own 30 to the 15, leading to a three-and-out and Green Bay's game-winning field goal. Head coach Aaron Glenn said Smith was "doing a solid job. Probably not his best." Smith acknowledged the loss despite leading touchdown drives in the second and third quarters, saying "We had the lead in the fourth quarter. We've just got to close the game better."
