Head coach Sean Payton said Waddle's impact on the game was "significant" and fellow wideout Courtland Sutton said that he thinks even bigger things are coming. "I think that's only the tip of the iceberg for him," Sutton said.

Waddle was traded to the Broncos this offseason to add explosiveness to the offense. In Week 2 against Jacksonville, he had eight catches for 138 yards with five catches of at least 14 yards, including a 49-yard leaping grab that set up Denver's first points. Head coach Sean Payton called his impact "significant." Courtland Sutton said "that's only the tip of the iceberg for him," noting the team has "more plays in our back pocket that we didn't even get to get to," suggesting substantial untapped upside in Waddle's role and usage as the season progresses.
