Pittman Jr. was acquired in the offseason to help draw coverage away from Metcalf and provide a second viable outside receiver option, but he has battled injuries throughout training camp and preseason and was forced to miss the Week 2 loss to New England because of a foot issue. His absence in a tough matchup against Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez may have contributed to Metcalf's struggles.
