In Minnesota, speculation has been rampant that the Vikings would be OK moving on from their own failed first-round pick, J.J. McCarthy, who is currently the third-stringer behind Kyler Murray and Carson Wentz. But Vikings general manager Nolan Teasley said in early September he expects the 23-year-old McCarthy to remain on the team's roster in 2026.
