Wide receiver Brandin Cooks was signed off the Vikings' practice squad by the 49ers. Kyle Shanahan said Cooks will be activated as soon as he demonstrates he's one of the five receivers ready to play, but there are no guarantees given it's his first day with the team. Shanahan indicated Cooks has a chance to play at some point over the next couple of weeks, contingent on how quickly he learns the offense and his performance in practice.
