Niners Nation on Demarcus Robinson

Robinson's alert-receiver role on Week 1 TD shows value in Shanahan's system.

Kyle Juszczyk noted that Demarcus Robinson's Week One touchdown was impressive because Robinson was the alert receiver on that play. Robinson ran hard as if he were the primary read, and based on the coverage that developed, he became the open target. This demonstrates Robinson's value in the 49ers' play-design system: he executes his role with full effort regardless of whether he's the primary or secondary read, making him reliable in Kyle Shanahan's progression-based offense.
