Allen stuffed on crucial 4th-and-1 call in tied game late fourth quarter.

Allen was called upon for a critical 4th-and-1 run out of the shotgun at midfield with the score tied late in the fourth quarter against the Packers, but got stuffed for no gain, resulting in the Jets failing to get the ball back before the end of regulation in a 20-17 OT loss. Offensive coordinator Frank Reich defended the play call, citing five years of data showing running out of the gun is percentage-wise more successful than non-shotgun formations due to the added pass threat.
