Strand started Week 2 with no starter reps after being benched Week 1.

Strand, an undrafted free agent rookie out of Minnesota-Moorhead, was the only healthy quarterback on the first day of training camp when Penix wasn't medically cleared and Tagovailoa had back spasms. He got plenty of reps in training camp and preseason, was benched in favor of Rush in Week 1, and started Week 2 against the Panthers with zero practice reps with the starters in advance of that game.
