Bates featured in Commanders' expanding 12 personnel package with Sinnott.

Bates is the Y tight end in the Commanders' 12 personnel sets; he aligns outside Ben Sinnott in the West Left formation and inside Sinnott in the new East Left formation introduced in week 2; the Commanders are leaning more on 12 personnel sets this year with both tight ends featured.
