On a long road back from an ACL tear last season, Penix made his 2026 debut Thursday night. He struggled early, looking terrible at times, frankly, as he was skittish in the pocket and worried into myriad bad throws. He completed only one of his five pass attempts with an interception over Atlanta's first two drives. With Robinson setting the tone, though, Penix settled in, and the offense was better for it.

Michael Penix Jr. made his 2026 debut Thursday night after recovering from an ACL tear, struggling early with poor pocket awareness and inaccuracy (1-of-5 completions with an interception on Atlanta's first two drives). However, he settled in as Robinson set the tone, finishing with 256 yards on 18-of-25 passing with a 5-yard TD pass to Austin Hooper.
